A curated guide to the

Derbyshire countryside

A NOTE FROM THE EDITORS

Over the past year, Your Derbyshire has grown from a simple idea between two friends into something we are both incredibly proud of. What began as a shared love for Derbyshire, the Peak District, and the amazing independent businesses within it quickly became something much bigger.

As the idea evolved into the magazine, it became a ‘business’, and we naturally felt the pressure to make it financially viable. From the beginning, we were intentional about keeping Your Derbyshire true to its ethos. We were proud to work with a small number of carefully chosen advertisers who genuinely aligned with our values, rather than filling pages for the sake of revenue. Protecting that integrity was always more important than scaling for profit, but when factoring in printing, postage and wholesale costs, it became clear that continuing in the same way wasn’t feasible without compromising what mattered most to us.

On a personal level, life is full and busy - we are both doing this alongside work and raising small children. So what started as something joyful and creative gradually began to feel like pressure, and we never wanted to lose the heart behind it.

One thing remains unchanged, and that’s our passion for Derbyshire. We both care deeply about celebrating this incredible place - there are still so many stories to tell and places to share. So although we will no longer be producing print copies of the magazine, we are going to continue to share content on Instagram. We have lots of ideas, and will be trying a few different things out too, so we’d like to say thank you in advance for sticking around as we find our feet again.

Finally, thank you for all your support over the past year. It has meant the world to us. We’re so proud of what we created, and we hope you’ll continue to follow along for what’s next.

Love,

Olivia & Rachel
